Medium-sized upright tree with pyramidal crown that stands out for its autumn color. The crown width of a mature tree is 10-12 meters. Dark green, glossy leaves. Spectacular, orange-red to bright red fall color, which stay long on the tree. The young twigs and petioles are red. Red flowers appear before the leaves develop.
For lime, moist soil. On dry or calcareous soil they grow poorly and have little autumn color. Sensitive to salt.
