Medium-sized tree of Japanese origin with broad, vase-shaped crown. The most striking feature are the olive green twigs with striking, white-gray stripes. The green three-lobed leaves are 6-12 cm long. The autumn color is fiery orange yellow to crimson. Yellow-green flowers in clusters, April-May. Winged fruits of 2 cm in length. Grows preferably on a permeable, but not too dry soil.
