Broadly spreading tree with a whimsical crown and horizontally planted branches. Grows quickly at a young age and can become up to 10 meters wide, so requires sufficient space. Very large heart-shaped fresh green leaves, up to 30 cm in size, that only appear on the tree late in the spring. Yellow autumn color. Blooms in June-July with up to 25 cm long flower clusters. The white bell-shaped flowers have yellow stripes and purple spots. The fruits are very long and thin, hanging, remaining on the tree in the winter. Grows preferably in full sun, on permeable but not too dry soils.
