This Cercis grows into a (multi-stemmed) shrub of 3 meters in height. The purple-pink flowers appear in large clusters, just before leaf development. These very striking flowers are grouped together in bundles. The dark green, thick leaves are approximately round, with yellow autumn color. This Cercis likes a calcareous soil and a place in the sun on a nutritious, humus-rich soil. Not for soils that are too wet. Tolerates drought well.
