White flowers, June + August-September.

The clematis is probably one of the best known and popular climbing plants. Already richly flowering from the first year after planting. Does require a sheltered location (especially against the wind) and fertile soil. The base of the plant should always be protected from the bright sun, for example by placing a smaller plant or a plank in front of it. To obtain a nicely branched plant, it is advisable to prune young plants back to 2 or 3 eyes at the base.
