Peculiar shrub with bizarrely twisted branches, like a corkscrew. The leaf resembles that of a hazelnut and is also spirally curled, the autumn colour is yellow. Beautiful solitary plant, especially as a naked plant in winter and early spring when it bears the long yellow-green catkins that hang from the winding branches. These catkins appear in March-April. The branches can be used decoratively, in a vase as a cut branch. Grows in any type of soil.
