Shrub with upright growth habit and overhanging branches. The young twigs are grey felty hairy. Oval, grey-green leaves, 2-3.5 cm long. Light pink, small flowers in clusters of 5-15, June. Orange-red berries in autumn, remain on the plant for a long time. Evergreen, but can lose its leaves during severe winters. Grows well in any normal soil, so not for very wet or dry soils, in the sun or light shade.
