The well-known red hawthorn, a small tree with a round, closed crown that can reach a mature width of 5-7 meters. The branches are thorned with 2.5 cm large, sharp thorns. The egg-shaped, lobed leaf is dark green and 3-6 cm long. The autumn color is yellow-orange. Blooms abundantly with red to light red, double flowers in clusters, May-June. This sterile variety does not bear fruit. Grows well on most soils, but preferably not on too dry soil.
