Beautiful, spreading shrub of medium height, growing as wide as high. Small and inconspicuous greenish white flowers in May-June, followed by purple red fruits. Undoubtedly an eye-catcher in every garden during autumn, when the dark-green leaves acquire their beautiful orange-red to pinkish autumn color. Afterwards the branches show their decorative, gray brown, corky wings. Tolerates sun or partial shade in almost any soil.
