Slow growing red weeping beech, which only grows as high as it is guided. The arching branches reach to the ground. Deep brown-red, glossy leaves, oval, 4-10 cm in size. Beautiful, but slow growing weeping tree, suitable for small gardens. Does not grow on wet soils or soils with a fluctuating groundwater level. Is best planted in a well-drained, humus-rich soil.
