Forms extremely decorative spherical tufts of grass. Distinguishes itself from all other drought-loving plants in the rock garden by its blue colour. Good winter hardiness down to -15°C. Festuca is a short-lived grass. After 3 to 4 years it is best to divide the tuft of grass and replant the new parts.

Requires a light soil and a dry location. Good in combination with ground cover, low perennials, low shrubs and roses. Festuca grows slowly and does not proliferate.
