Medium-sized tree with a somewhat irregular, broad crown (up to 7 metres). The leaves are finely pinnate, 15-20 cm in total. The young leaves are bright yellow to golden yellow. Later in the summer they turn greenish yellow. The second shoot (from July) is again strikingly yellow. During the autumn all the leaves turn an even yellow. In contrast to some other Gleditsias, this variety is completely thornless. One of the most beautiful and interesting yellow-leaved trees. Highly recommended. Can be grown in normal to dry soil and has few soil requirements.
