Healthy, compact ball shape Liquidambar, suitable for small gardens. The glossy green leaves are hand-shaped lobed and can grow up to 15 cm long. This Liquidambar retains its green colour for a long time in the autumn. The autumn colour is eventually yellow, unless there is an early night frost. Then the autumn colour will not appear but the leaves will turn brown and fall off. The crown grows slowly and can become about 3 metres wide when old.
Likes fertile, moist soil, best not to plant on dry soils.
Because of its shape and good health, this is a good addition to the range of 'ball trees'.
