Columnar growing Liquidambar, which does not grow wider than ± 3 meters. The green leaves remain on the tree quite long in autumn. They do not have the typical autumn colors of Liquidambar and usually turn a little yellow. Unlike Liquidambar styraciflua, 'Slender Silhouette' does not have cork strips on the trunk. Inconspicuous yellow-green flowers in April-May, followed by round spiny fruits 3 cm long. Liquidambar grows best in fertile, moist soil.
