Tree with broad pyramidal crown, English selection that is resistant to wet and cold periods, and therefore very suitable for our Western European climate. Fast growing as a young tree, with a narrow crown and straight trunk. Later the crown grows broad-pyramidal. The 5-lobed leaf is more deeply incised than in Liquidambar styraciflua. Beautiful autumn colours, from apricot, orange to orange-red. On moist soils the autumn colour is deeper.
