'Black Tulip' is a wonderful Magnolia. The goblet-shaped flowers are of a beautiful, intense wine-red color. The flower looks very dark on the tree because the petals are so thick that no light can shine through them.

Magnolias grow best in lime-poor, fresh, well-drained, humus-rich soil, in a sunny, sheltered position. Very recommended as an isolated tree or shrub. Most flower before leaf development.
