American selection of the small-leaved lime with slightly larger leaves than Tilia cordata. As a young tree it grows more pyramidal, later with an egg-shaped crown. A mature tree can grow 8 to 10 metres wide with a maximum mature height of 20 metres. Strongly scented flowers from June, followed by small fruits. Fairly insensitive to aphids.
