Very tall tree with loose, round crown. Twigs very dark but strikingly reddish in autumn. The early appearing leaves are moderately large, light green, and have a red petiole. The flowers are light yellow, fragrant, June-July. Has little trouble with root suckers around the trunk. Very suitable for espalier forms.
