The Tsuga forms a beautiful pyramidal growing tree with gracefully hanging branches. The fine foliage is light green, the underside of the needles is silver-grey. Tsuga tolerates shade very well and is very easy to shear, making it well suited for forming hedges. Also particularly beautiful as a solitary.
